Junior Hurling success over Birr The Junior hurlers gained their second win of the campaign with a hard fought victory over a gallant Birr CS on Monday 29th September. St Peters raced into a three point lead with scores from Kyle Firman and Rory O Connor. Rory O Connor struck a major in the 15th minute when his mishit shot went all the way to the net. Birr battled back with three points in a row but scores from Jack Devereux, Kyle and Conor Firman gave the Summerhill men a 1.9 to 0.3 lead at half time.   Birr got a fantastic start to the second half when they blasted a 21 yard free to the net. St Peters gained the upper hand from then on with great scores from substitutes Fiach O Craualaioch and Ger Dempsey. Rory o Connor rapped up the game with a well taken goal after superb work from Sean Banville. Birr scored a late goal with the game ending 2.15 to 2.4 in favour of the Wexford men. St Peters are top of the group with two wins and face a tough away trip to Castlecomer in the final match. This game is scheduled for Monday next the 6TH of October.
