Well done to the juvenile footballers who recorded a 6 – 10 to 4 – 07 victory over Clane in Carlow on Thursday 4th December. It was Clane who came out on top when they met in the league stage earlier in the year but it was the Summerhill men who won the day on this occasion after a tremendous contest. St. Peter’s took the early initiative and led by 2 – 4 to 0 – 2 after 10 minutes. However, Clane fought back and were level at 2 – 5 apiece on 20 minutes. St. Peter’s recorded a third goal just before half time to lead by 3 at the break. St. Peter’s added 3 early points at the start of the second half to push clear and though Clane enjoyed the Lion’s share of possession for the remainder of the match the defence of the Wexford team stood firm and held out for a deserved win.
