Hard luck to our Junior footballers who lost out by a single point in the South Leinster Final on Wednesday January 27th against Edenderry. A slow start cost them dearly as Edenderry built up a 1 – 5 to 0 – 2 lead approaching half time. However, a Ross Banville goal reduced the deficit and at half time, the lead was down to 3 points. St. Peter’s had the better of the second half and chipped away at the lead and when Dylan Lyne recorded their second major they took a one point lead into the last 8 minutes. However, 2 late frees from Edenderry edged them back in front and despite heroic efforts in the dying minutes Edenderry held on to win by a point. Well done to all the players and their management team of Chris Murphy and Kevin Day – we are very proud of all their efforts. Best of luck to Edenderry in the remainder of the championship.
