The team of Andrew Harrington, Nathan O’Brien and Callum Quirke represented St Peter’s in the Leinster Junior Stroke Play qualifying competition held at Bray Golf Club on Thursday 9th October. The format was nett scoring but with a maximum handicap of 15. The standard was very high on the day and with only three teams to go through the best two scores from St Peter’s was +8 which wasn’t sufficient to see the Peter’s representatives through to the next round.
The Leinster Senior Fourball Matchplay League has been in progress for a couple of weeks and St Peter’s has played two rounds. Brendan Rossiter, Bill Joyce, Nick Whelan and Andre O’Brien travelled to Enniscorthy GC to take on the local CBS. After a tight game Enniscorthy won both matches by 1 hole to win 2up. The second outing was in Rosslare when the visitors were Gorey CS. The team of Ben O’Shea, Bill Joyce, Robert Coakley and Jack Sinnot won 1 match by two holes but the other pairing lost by 4 holes so the overall result was a loss by 2 holes. St Peters still have to play Good Counsel New Ross, Colaiste Bride Carnew and Borris VC.
