Past Pupils’ Union Achievement Awards 2013-2014
The Past Pupils Union is delighted to again honour students who have distinguished themselves in the past year and the College Staff has nominated 3 such students for an award.

The first award goes to an LC2 student. A student of Mr John Philips Taekwondo school in Wexford he won the Irish and European Taekwondo title in 2013 and just recently won the All Ireland Junior Welterweight Kick Boxing title. The first Achievement Award went to double all Ireland Champion Shane Carter.

The second award went to a third year student. Representing Clonard Boxing club this student won the All Ireland Boys 86 Kg Championship at the National Stadium, Dublin in April and an Achievement Award was presented to Irish Boxing Champion Darren Cousins.

The third award went to one of our LC2 students. This student has been an ever permanent feature on schools equestrian teams since his first year. His exploits in the past year have been phenomenal. Competing at the highest level in the All Ireland Pony Club championships he was the best overall rider in 2013 winning 4 of the 6 events and finishing 2nd and 3rd in the others. He also won the All Ireland Pony Club eventing league in both 2012 and 2013. His horse Footfall couldn’t be at the actual award ceremony but the PPU representative was delighted to honour top horseman Paddy Whelan with an Achievement Award.
