POETRY

Haiti By Cian Kelly
The earth shook with such ferocity,

‘Bing, Bang, Whoosh’ went the falling bins,

Fear was alive in the people’s faces,

As the buildings crumbled and fell like pins.

Then it was over,

The water was suddenly very still,

Screams rang out under the sun,

At the sounds of the falling mill.

The scene was shocking,

Sirens rang long into the night,

The hospitals were full within the hour,

However for Haiti there would be no shining knight.

Aid came with the first rays of light,

But too little for the plight,

More helicopters flew in by the hour,

The poor went out on the same flight.

WW II by James Allen 2G
On the first of September
In nineteen thirty-nine
Hitler made a decision
To enter Poland’s domain
Following that he went to France
And annihilated them
But they weren’t finished then
They would go on to cause mayhem
Then neither side did a thing
No causing of uproar
A period of great unnerve
That was called the Phoney War
But then again, Hitler swept
From Prussia to Stalingrad
And there was one of the greatest battles
That the world has ever had
And Russia were the winners
And the tide began to turn
And that defeat, above all else
Caused Hitler some concern
Come forth the sixth of June
In nineteen forty-four
The allies landed on the beaches
Ensuing lots of gore
And on the seventh of May
In nineteen forty-five
Germany surrendered
Their Führer no longer alive
Churchill had him warned
But still he went ahead
And because of Hitler’s actions
Millions were left dead

911 by Conor Halligan (2G)
Planes crashing,
Terrorists laughing,
People screaming,
People running,
People jumping,
Children crying,
Sirens blazing,
Fires burning,
The twin towers collapsing,
People start running,
Smoke covering,
People today still dying,
All because of the tragedy 911.

PAUL by Elliot Samuel Class 2G
Tall Paul hit the ball against the wall and amazed them all.
But the wall began to fall; it nearly crushed Paul and the rest of them all.
Only one was hurt by the fallen wall and he could only crawl!
‘‘Uh, Oh’ said Paul, as the other walls of the mall began to fall.
‘‘Hurry up and get the ball’ Paul said to them all.
‘But if I recall’ said the one, who could only crawl, ‘the ball is underneath that wall.’
‘‘OK’ said Paul ‘We need to find another ball!’
‘And another wall’ said the rest of them all.
So they went to the dining hall and got a meatball.
They found a wall at the back of the mall that had not yet begun to fall,
Even in the rainfall you could hear Paul hitting his meatball against the wall.
So in the end brave Paul had stopped them being bored to the skull.
Fair play Paul!

SOMETHING IN THE AIR
The clouds are floating to and fro
What’s up above them no one knows
It could be Martians small and green
Or Guardian Angels tall and lean
White clouds, black clouds move around
They mingle together without a sound
One day soon, it will be clear
Whether its Martians or Angels that appear
To save the world from Human Disaster
So all life forms can live Happy Ever After
