The All Ireland Inter School Hunter Trials will take place on the 19th March at Moorfield Kennels, Ballinalboola, Co. Wexford. | Equestrian 2009 - 2010 Round-Up | ||
|
This year the school competed again in both the Hunter Trials and Show Jumping competitions. The Show Jumping team of Conor Walsh, Patrick Whelan, Shane Roche and Niall Scallan came 4th in the All-Ireland Inter-School Championships. Congratulations to Ruairí Cravenwho came 6th in the Junior Individual final. All team members were presented with rosettes and School Certs to acknowledge their achievements this year at the End of Year Mass in Bride St. Church on 12th May 2010. |

Our Reserve is David Quigley In addition David Quigley and Oisin Coffey are representing the school in the National Individuals. We wish them all good luck! |

The All Ireland Inter-school Hunter trials kick off on the 14th March, 2009. The trials take place in Ballinaclough, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Ms. Nessa O'Sullivan has been mentoring the Two teams will represent St. Peter's College: MENTOR: Ms Nessa O'Sullivan TEAM 1:Diarmuid Keeling, Conor Walsh and Shane Roche TEAM2: Cian O'Callaghan, Niall Scallan and Ruairí Cravan Reserves: Oisin Coffey and David Quigley An update will be posted after the trail date. | All Ireland Inter Schools Show Jumping | ||
|
St. Peters had eight students competing in this event. It was held in Enniscorthy on Saturday the 3rd of May. Another early start for everyone involved, the team event was on first. Our two teams jumped two rounds and everyone gave their best effort. The senior team were very unlucky not to get into the jump off. All our riders competed individually also. Conor Walsh and Ruairi Craven qualified for the jump off which was against the clock. Both did well with Conor finishing with 8 faults and Ruairi jumping a clear round. Hopefully next year we will take home some prizes! |

| All Ireland Inter Schools Hunter Trials | ||
|
St. Peter's College had a total of nine students competing in the Hunter Trials this year. It was held in Bagenalstown Co. Carlow which meant an early start for all involved. Hundreds of students from around the country participated in the event and competition was fierce on the day. We had three teams competing in the Team Championship. All teams did very well especially the senior team who recorded the 3rd fastest time but were very unlucky to knock one fence. The individual championship took place after the team event. We had four seniors taking part. Jimmy O' Rourke, Diarmuid Keeling , Conor Ryan and Conor Walsh. Diarmuid was in top form and finished 2nd with Jimmy finishing 10th overall. This was a fantastic achievement for both riders. Conor Walsh recorded an excellent time but was unlucky to knock a fence which put him out of the prizes. He is one to watch for next year’s event. The juniors ( Cian O' Callaghan, Ruairi Craven, Oisin Coffey, Niall Scallan and Shane Roche) participated well in the Individual Championship. Unfortunatly we didn’t collect any prizes but there’s always next year! |

| IRELAND INTER SCHOOLS HUNTER TRIALS | ||

It is that time of the year again when our equine enthusiaists get to show off their talents. This year we are heading to Borris, Co. Carlow to take part in the ALL IRELAND INTER SCHOOLS HUNTER TRIALS on March 15th, 2008. We have students from all years participating this year and I must say they are looking forward to the event. We are going to James O’ Connor’s Cross Country Track on Friday the 1st of february to practice and we hope to get there once more before the competition. This years track is quite hilly so our horses will need to be fit and those girts may be tightened well as we don’t want to lose anyone going down the hills!!! We have ten students participating in the Hunter Trials. Everyone will take part individually and then as part of a team. The following students are taking part: Jimmy O Rourke, Ruairi craven, Diarmuid Keeling, Shane Roche, Cian O’ Callaghan, Conor Walsh, Conor Ryan, Niall Scallan, Jonathan Andrew, Oisin Coffey. Best of luck to the boys. |
