The U19 team will be first in action with the Wexford finals normally held in mid November. The U16 competition is in December and the U14s will be in action in the new year. Trials for each of the teams will be held. Times and details will be announced on the class tutors’ notices

| U-19 LEINSTER SCHOOLS FINAL | ||
|
On Tuesday 17th Jan the U-19 Badminton teams (A & B) traveled to Dublin to compete in the Leinster Schools Finals. Both teams performed very well but came up against some very strong competition from the Terenure, Moate, De La Salle, Killina PSS and Sutton teams. The A team competed in the first round against De La Salle and had a strong win winning 6 - 0. In the next round they came up against a very good A team from Terenure and were beaten 5 -1. In the 3rd round once again the boys were beaten 5 - 1 and we were eventually put out of competition but on a positive note we did come third in the competition. The B team came up against a very strong team from moate and were defeated 6 - o. In the next round they competed against Killina PSS and won 5-1. However, in other rounds the team from Moate won all there games so at the end of round 2 S.P.C were knocked out of the competition. Even, though both teams did not win the Leinster Finals, it was a very useful experience to travel and compete against such strong teams and a lot of skills and tips were observed and taken on board. So we will be in a good position to compete next year. |
