| Trials for the South Leinster Track and Field will commence at 1:15 on Friday the 16th April in Power Park. All are welcome! | ||

| South Leinster Cross-Country Results | ||
|
On Wednesday 3rd Feb over 200 athletes competed in the South Leinster Cross-Country competition. St. Peter's College team U-14 team finished 4th. Aaron Maddock came in 9th and has qualified for Leinster. Other team members were: Brian Coffey,Conor Maddock, Kevin Mahoney, Sean Maher, Paul Clarke, Daire McCormack and Niall Ó Donnagáin. In the Under 17 competition approx 150 athletes competed. The St. Peter's Team came in 3rd and qualified for the Leinsters. The team players were: Cian Gabbett, Con Ó Donnagáin, Conor Shovlin, Brian Dunne, Sam Collyer and Ian Mitchell. Well done to the U-15's and the U-19's who alos finished in very creditable positions. Congratulations to David MacAogain(LC1) who won Bronze in the Senior 400 metres in Santry Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 16th May,2009. He will represent the school on the 30th May in the All Irelands. Best of luck to David from all at St. Peter's College! |

South Leinster track and field will take place on Wed 29th of April for minor and junior and Wed 6th May for Intermediate and Senior age group. Updates will be added to the site after these dates. | PADDY DEVEREUX EXCELS IN ATHLETICS | ||
|
Paddy Devereux a students in 1Stair is the winner of not 1 but 2 Gold Medals in the Leinster Championships. Paddy received his gold medals for the: 200 Metre Relay and the 60 metre Hurdles. He also took a Silver Medal in the Long Jump and has qualified for the All-Irelands in three weeks time. Paddy is also the current holder of the National Record for the 60 Metre Indoor Hurdles. What an Athlete! Everyone wishes Paddy the very best of luck in the All-Ireland Competition |

| On Tuesday the 21st October 2008 St. Peter's College and the Loreta Secondary School took part in the "2008 Schools Mile Challenge". This was to promote participation by teengers in healthy forms of exercise. All students were encouraged to take part and run/jog/walk a distance of 1 mile. Approx 170 students took part which was an excellent turnout. All the names, ages and times of students will be recorded and included on a National Database and colour coded bands will be sent to those who participated. | ||

| TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETICS | ||
|
Leinster Combined Events: 19th September 2007, Morton Stadium, Santry, Dublin. The athletes take part in 6 track and field events: -sprint hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot putt, 200m and 800m. David MacAogáin, 3A5 represented the school in the under-17 (intermediate) competition. He finished in 6th place overall. This was a great achievement as David was the youngest athlete in the competition and will compete at under-17 level again next year. Conor Shovlin, 1E took part in the under-15 (junior) competition. This was his first time to take part in a multi-event. He was very pleased with his performance and benefited tremendously from the experience. He will also be eligible to compete in the same age group again next year. |

| Cross-Country Running | ||
| Training for the Cross-Country practice race against Wexford schools will take place on Monday 12th and Wednesday 14th of November @ 12:45p.m. in Power Park. The practice race against Wexford Schools will be held in New Ross on Friday 23rd November, 2007. Teams for the event will be announced closer to the event. | ||

| CANOE TRIP 17th November 2007 | ||
|
This trip is open to LC1/TY/LC2. The trip involves a 5 mile descent of the River Barrow over weirs and rapids from Graiguenamanagh to St. Mullins. The cost of the trip is 45Euro (covers course and travel). Places are limited to 18, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. You must be able to swim, have canoed at least once before and feel capable of completing the distance. ARRANGEMENTS: Departing the back gate of the College on Saturday morning at 9:00a.m. sharp!. Return at 4:00p.m. (approx) |
