For decades St. Peter’s College has had excellent representation by its athletes, with great success, throughout the country and abroad.
Cross-country training starts in early Autumn for the school competitions in Spring. Track and Field competitions take place in May and June each year.
The College caters for all age groups and newcomers are especially welcome.

| The South Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships | ||
|
The South Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships are on Wednesday 25th January, 2012 at Clongowes Wood College, Clane. Teams: Minor Boys (Under 14) – Ben Robinson, Eoin O’Callaghan, Peter Doyle, Marcus Harrington, John Berry, Patrick Cullen Junior (Under 15) – Darragh Ferris, Cian Ryan, Ronan Devereux, Conall Callery Intermediate (Under 17) – Enda Cloake, Mikey Cullen, Kevin Mahoney, Cameron Steele, Sean Mordaunt, Cian O’Callaghan, Conor Gaffney Senior (Under 19) – David Cogley, Ian McDonald, Shane Jenkins, Ciaran Walsh, Cian Rodgers Bus leaves 8.40am. Please bring raingear, towel, packed lunch, runners with long spikes if possible (if not, good runners if dry or football boots if wet). Home approx 5.30pm. Good luck to all involved |

| The new athletics season kicks off with a trip to the Sheilbaggan Outdoor Pursuits Centre for the LC1 and TY's. A meeting of all those taking part is scheduled for Monday 27th Sept in Mr. Cassidy's Hall at 10.30 a.m. | ||

| Athletics 2009-2010 Round-Up | ||
|
The following students were recognised for their achievements in the South Leinster Cross Country Track and Field Competitions at the end of Year Mass in Bride Street Church on Wednesday 12th May 2010. Aaron Maddock Under 14 – who won a Gold Medal in the 800m and came 3rd in the 4 x 100m relay. Aaron also came 9th and qualified for Leinsters in the Minor Cross Country. Cian Gabbett; Brian Dunne; Sam Collyer; Ian Mitchell; Con O’Donnagáin and Conor Shovlinwere also presented with medals for their achievements in the the Cross Country Under 17 Competition were they came in 3rd and qualified for Leinster. Other fine School Athletes who were awarded school medals were Con O’Donnagáin and Conor Shovlin who won a Bronze Medal 100m in the South Leinster Track and Field Competitions recently. Conor Shovlin – Silver Medal 1500m Steeplechase. Medals were also awared to Brionn Coffeywho won a Bronze Medal in the 100m Minors and was also a member of the relay team that came 3rd with fellow team members of Conor Maddock and Daniel Carroll. For his achievements of a Silver Medal in the Intermediate High Jump, Chris Culleton was awarded a medal along with Edward O’Byrne who won a Bronze Medal in the 800m. And finally one of our top athletes, David MacAogain who won a Bronze Medal in the All Irelands Schools 400m hurdles last June, having already won Gold in the South Leinsters was awarded a school medal to rapturous applause from all present. 1 MILE CHALLENGE For the second year running the P.E Department organised a One Mile Challenge run. Almost 300 students participated and the following were the winners: 1st year: Cameron Steel; Aaron Maddock; Kevin Mahony 2nd Year: Sean Finan; Joseph Mahon; Jamie Crean 3rd Year: Conor Shovlin; Shane McGuinness; Leo Burke TY: Jack Murphy; Sam Collyer; Niall Scallan LC 1: Dylan Murphy; Colm Kinsella; Dean Corrigan LC 2: Mark O’Connor; David MacAogain; Seamus Carroll |
